Basic Charecteristics of a Chameleon

- a type of lizard, of which there are 160 different species.
* Has the ability to change colour so as to blend in with its surrounds and
   avoid detection for both attack and defense.
* Varies in size from 4cm to 68 cm.
* The anatomy of its feet allows it to be an excellent climber.
* It's eyes move independantly of each other.
* Has a long extrudable sticky tongue which acts as an adhesive, which is used to  catch prey. The   tongue can exceed the length of its body and it strikes its prey at 30 thousandths of a second (faster than the human eye can see)
* It feeds on insects.
* Its habitat ranges from rain forrests to desert conditions.
